When and Where I Wrote The Lodestar

So I wrote a book...and it will be available for any and all to read this February. It is a post-pandemic novel being published during a global pandemic. Oddly enough I wrote a post pandemic novel in 2018, when we had no idea a global pandemic was around the next corner. I started to write in earnest while traveling in Eastern Europe. I’m sure my wife would say that I was missing all the sights with my nose stuck in my journal while she drove down the endless beautiful highways or we were hurled across the countrysides on trains. But I was soaking it all in, as it continued to feed my writing as we went. I continued to work on the manuscript long after we returned to the reality of day to day life back home in Seattle. I felt ready to present my manuscript just as our city was locked down, soon followed by much of the world. I found a home for my book with Atmosphere Press, and worked with my editor, Albert Liau, for months before it was ready for publishing.
